NEVER A PROBLEM...

My 10-year-old is often guessed to be about 7 because of his size.  I keep thinking one of these days he's gonna be upset about it, but he doesn't seem to mind being small in stature and it certainly hasn't slowed him down in sports. 

The other day he said he wanted to wash our van and small truck.  I didn't pay much attention, but after awhile I ventured outside to see what he was up to.  As you can see, his head just clears the truck's tailgate, so how will he be able to reach and get the job done?  No problem for him.

WONDERFUL PILLOW

Our six-month-old golden retriever fits right in with us.  Summer evenings means staying up late with my 14 and 10 year old and watching tv shows from the days when I was a kid.  Not all of us end up staying awake though...check out Andrew and Chloe the other night...

THE EVERYDAY ODD...

Being in the scrapbook "business" leaves little time, or in my case no time, for personal scrappin'.  As I look back, since I openned the business, I have not sat and scrapped my boys pics for their albums for the past three years (and I was a few years behind when I was scrapping them). 

The sad thing is that I have also slowed down in taking pictures the past few years also.  Not so many "firsts" going on maybe?  Anyway, I'm tucking my camera in my purse and looking for every day things to "document" about my boys that I'm sure I will forget over time...like these pics from today...Austin always eats all his fries and then doesn't finish his burger.  So now I make him eat his burger  BEFORE his fries.  His suggested compromise...he eats his burgers like this...and notice how each fry is arranged by length for maximum coverage and the perfect fit.  Oh brother!

HAPPY FOURTH?

Well, the marine layer came in just in time for the big fireworks show, making for some colored clouds for the 4th.  Still fun though, bbqin' and lighting some fireworks of our own.

Sold out of this class last week and had a waiting list so I got busy and ordered some more product.  This Thursday night I will be offering it again, so be sure and call me (805-714-5961) if you'd like to get in on it...again, only a few seats left!

NO JULY STORE HOURS

Winding down June at the shop.  Time for a break.

I will NOT be having regular store hours during the month of July.  However, you can check with me if there is something you need.  Classes will start back up with some great projects beginning August, although there will be one special class on July 1.  I have posted the schedule and will soon have pictures too.

Because of this, I will have a sale day on Monday, June 30, just in case you need to stock up until August!  More details to follow.

Tomorrow's LKT class is SOLD OUT, but feel free to stop in to shop.

ALCOHOL INK DEMO - TIM HOLTZ

Hey, sometimes it just doesn't hurt to ask!

I emailed Tim Holtz a couple months ago asking him why he hadn't done a demo on YouTube for alcohol inks since he had done one for his fragments, grundgeboard and ruler.  He responded that he covered alcohol ink on one of his instructional DVDs. 

Then just today I noticed a post on his blog that due to requests, he did an alcohol ink demo and posted it on Ranger site.  Here is the link for you.  http://rangerink.com/videos/videos_tim_alcoholinks.htm

He's also put more up on his blog but I haven't checked them out yet.  I'll keep you posted.

And BTW, have all the alcohol inks, mixative, tools in stock! :)

THIS WEEKEND!!!

Did you know that this weekend is National Scrapbooking Day...well, we celebrate it Friday and Saturday here at JR Designs.  There are still spaces available for the CROP 24 but you'll need to sign up quickly.  Read all about it by clicking the link on your right.
